Jon is a senior ecologist based in the Derby office managing projects throughout the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North West.
Before joining Prime Environment, Jon worked for a Yorkshire based ecology consultancy for six years. Jon has been involved in a wide range of projects from barn conversions and council re-roofing projects to housing developments and renewable energy infrastructure.
Bats and badgers are Jon’s main areas of interest; however, over the years he has developed expertise with a wide range of species and habitats, and is a licenced bat, barn owl and great crested newt surveyor.
With a prior background in tree surgery and climbing, Jon leads on projects involving trees and protected species such as roosting bats and nesting birds. With extensive experience in bat echolocation analysis, Jon also helps design, implement and analyse large scale bat activity surveys.
In his spare time Jon enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, and getting out into the countryside.
